“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”
– Mark 12:30-31 (NIV)
GOAL
To connect with those who are less privileged, offering a listening ear, sharing love, and building meaningful relationships.
PROGRAMMES
The purpose of the Outreach & Social Concerns Ministry is to engage the residents near our church by befriending, and encouraging their participation in the church and in the community. We seek to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the good works we do.
KAMPONG WALK
Every Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, a team of helpers will walk from the church to visit residents in the surrounding neighbourhood. Our mission is to connect with those who are less privileged, offering a listening ear, sharing love, and building meaningful relationships.
ST LUKE’S ELDERCARE
Every Tuesday from 10.30 to 11.30 am, a team of volunteers brings joy and love to the residents of St Luke’s ElderCare by providing companionship, sing-along sessions and physical workouts.
HELPING HAND (PRISON AFTER CARE)
Every Thursday from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM, a team of helpers leads devotions and Bible study at The Helping Hand, a local halfway house. During these sessions, they build connections and trust with ex-offenders who are preparing to reintegrate into society.
COMMUNITY CORNER
Every Thursday from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, a team of volunteers assists in various activities at the Community Corner, including light exercises, interactive games, food service, and karaoke. The Community Corner currently welcomes over 70 participants and continues to grow in numbers.
SUNDAY HOME VISITATION
Every 3rd Sunday of each month a dedicated team of helpers will visit the elderly and those in need of care, offering support and companionship. Through these visits, we aim to show that we are united as one church, bound together in the body of Christ.
PRISONS MINISTRY
Prisons Ministry helpers are active in three areas of ministry to inmates and their families:
- Prisons In-Care: Helpers conduct worship and Bible study for inmates at Changi Prison under the coordination of Prison Fellowship Singapore.
- Family Care: A separate team of helpers visits and cares for family members of inmates under the coordination of Prison Fellowship Singapore.
OCCASIONAL ONE-TIME BLESSING EVENTS
We also organize occasional blessing events, such as buffet lunch blessings for the underprivileged, toy giveaways, Christmas present distributions, and carolling. We warmly encourage those who cannot commit to weekly programs to join us for these one-time events and share in the blessings.
